Why go
Cabo San Lucas' arts scene sits inside the marina and downtown themselves — a highly-rated immersive museum built around the Sea of Cortez, a small natural history museum with a real archaeological collection, and sculpture and painting galleries a short walk from the boats.
Cabo San Lucas has more culture than it gets credit for
The marina and downtown corridor are known for boats, beach clubs, and nightlife — but the same few blocks hold a legitimate arts and museum scene, most of it walkable without a car. Discovery Center Museo Inmersivo, which opened in June 2026, is the newest and most talked-about addition: an immersive, technology-built walk through the biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez, with reviews as strong as anything else in town. A few minutes away, the Museum of Natural History occupies Cabo San Lucas's original 1952 schoolhouse in Plaza Amelia Wilkes, with a real archaeological and geological collection behind its modest storefront.
Where the galleries fit in
Puerto Paraíso mall's Galería Sergio Bustamante is the anchor gallery — sculpture, jewelry, and decorative pieces by a well-known Mexican artist, open daily into the evening — and a short walk along the Médano/Luxury Avenue stretch adds Yandi Monardo Art Gallery and La Turquesa Jewelry & Art for anyone who wants to keep browsing past the marina.

Discovery Center Museo Inmersivo
An immersive science and technology museum with an attached gift shop, located in The Place at Cabo plaza in the Cabo San Lucas marina.
Opened June 2026 in The Place at Cabo plaza inside the marina, this is the first museum of its kind in Baja California Sur: four themed rooms — Misterio, Corrientes, Convergencia, and Esencia — build an immersive, technology-driven walk through the biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez, anchored by a roughly 40-minute wraparound projection in the main Convergencia room. A full visit runs about an hour, and it's built as a family learning space as much as a tourist attraction, with both national and local visitors in mind.
