Why go
Todos Santos has more working galleries within a few blocks of its plaza than anywhere else in Los Cabos, several run by the artists themselves, plus a free municipal museum with a real ethnobotanical garden — all walkable in an unhurried morning.
A town built around working artists
Todos Santos earned its reputation as a creative town honestly — several of its galleries are run by the artists themselves, not by a dealer reselling someone else's work. Galeria Todos Santos has been open since 1994, the first gallery in southern Baja to represent a group of artists across mediums, while Galeria Logan is entirely Jill Logan's own studio and showroom next to Hotel California. La Sonrisa De La Muerte goes a step further, running a second workshop space so visitors can actually try printmaking rather than only look at it.
How to spend the morning
Everything on this list sits within a few blocks of the plaza in El Centro, so there's no need to drive between galleries. Start at Casa de la Cultura Profr Néstor Agundez — free admission, a small ethnobotanical garden, and historical exhibits — before working through the galleries at whatever pace feels right. Galería Militar keeps more limited, gallery-artist hours than the rest, so it's the one worth checking ahead if it's a must-see rather than a nice-to-have.
