Antigua Cafe

A sip of serenity to start your day.

Take in the smell of fresh roasting beans inside the tranquil, tropical coffee shop located in downtown San Jose. Sip on a fresh crafted latte in a cozy booth amidst lush green plants, while enjoying the melodic sounds of wind chimes. Whether you're catching up with friends, nestled on the patio with a good book, or typing away on your laptop, this open-air oasis welcomes all.

There are plenty of tables, most with plug-ins (a must!), and of course, free (functional!) WiFi. If you're posting up for awhile, make sure to try one of their delicious menu items. Our favorites were the Acai Bowl and the Huevos Rancheros.

Pro tip: Treat your tastebuds to one of their healthy bowls! From Banana or Acai to Avocado or Mango, you can't go wrong.

Crust Bakery

Grab the WiFi password, kick back and enjoy a bite to eat while you send out your emails at Crust. We recommend a delicious latte on the rocks and a Tulipán to start your day on a high note. What is a Tulipán you ask? A delicious, fresh and flaky croissant pastry stuffed with strawberries and cream. If you know Mexico, they love their fresas con crema, and this take on it is pure perfection. They also have warm bagel & egg sandwiches, grilled ham & cheese and more, if you're feeling more on the savory side than the sweet side.

We all know summer in Cabo is hot, hot, hot. At Crust, you're in luck, as the AC is flowing. This bakery is tiny and you do need to find downtown parking, but once you take your first bite of their pastries, it'll all be worth it.

Pro tip: Before you leave, grab a sourdough loaf to go... you won't regret it.

El Wine Shop

Safe to say the best breakfast burrito we've had in Baja so far is at El Wine Shop. Their coffee may be at the top of this list, too.

With locations in both San Jose and Cabo, El Wine Shop is a great spot to always have top of mind for coffee, breakfast, WiFi, and work.

Pro tip: Order a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice to pair with breakfast.

Pezgallo Coffee

If you're a fan of tres leches cake, you'll fall in love with this Pan Frances. At the heart of this heavenly dish lies a thick slice of golden-brown brioche bread, which soaks up all of the sweet, creamy goodness. It's so good on it's own, they don't even serve it with syrup, just a dollop of whipped cream with lime zest, a sweet jam and fresh berries.

In a savory mood instead? The Burrito Califas is a great option, filled with fluffy eggs, cheese, crispy bacon, avocado, habanero mayo and salsa verde.

Pro tip: Not just a brunch and coffee spot -- the fun continues after the sun goes down. Check their Instagram for their after-dark events featuring craft cocktails, DJ pop-ups and kitchen takeovers with specialty menus.

Ruba's Bakery & Bistro is a hidden gem located in downtown San Jose del Cabo. From the moment you walk, the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods and fresh brewed coffee will draw you closer to the display of mouthwatering pastries and desserts. Whether you're craving a classic Mexican concha, a buttery croissant, or a Croque Monsieur, Ruba's delivers a taste of indulgence in every bite.
